Agustinus R. Uria

He studied MSc Biotechnology at Wageningen University, Netherlands through the Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP). Through the support from DAAD long-term research program, he obtained a doctorate/doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) from the University of Bonn, Germany under the supervision of Professor Joern Piel, studying natural product biosynthesis in uncultured symbiotic bacteria of the marine sponge Theonella swinhoei. He continued joining the Piel Laboratory as a postdoctoral research associate at Institute of Microbiology, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology - ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He has recently been an International postdoc research fellow under the scheme of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hokkaido University, Japan (from May 2017 to April 2019).
